Frequently Asked Questions about the Library
HOW MANY BOOKS MAY A STUDENT CHECK OUT?
Students in kindergarten, first, and second grade may checkout 1 book for 1 week.
Students in third, fourth, and fifth grade may checkout 2 books for 1 week.
Students may recheck a book by bringing it to the Library. There are no fines for overdue books, but if books are lost or damaged please pay for them so they can be replaced.
HOW DO STUDENTS KNOW WHEN THEIR BOOKS ARE DUE?
Students books are due on the day their class checkout visit. See the Library Schedule page for class schedules.
Students may return library books when classes are not in session in the Library with their teacher's permission and checkout another book.
WHEN DO STUDENTS VISIT THE LIBRARY?
Students visit the Library twice each week with their class. The weekly visits include a 30 minute library skills lesson and a checkout and quiet reading or storytime. Students may also visit the Library with their teacher's permission when classes are not in session in the Library.
CAN PARENTS CHECKOUT BOOKS?
Yes!! We encourage parents to visit the Library and checkout books for their students. The Library is open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. every school day.
